On the last Thursday of term, School Council took part in the Great British Spring Clean, heading to Fairlands Park for a busy afternoon of litter picking. Supported by a few extra volunteers from each class and an Environment Officer from the council, we filled three sacks with all of the rubbish that we found. It was great to feel that we had helped to make our environment a nicer place to be, and it also left us determined to make sure that no one we know drops litter in public places.
Earlier in the term, School Council also represented us at the Stevenage Schools Parliament. They shared their ideas for improving our town and discussed ideas for supporting mental health. They also got to meet the Mayor, as well as representatives from all the other schools in Stevenage.
"Leaders have put in place an ambitious curriculum for all pupils that is well suited to their needs."
