Street Dance Club
We run 3 separate Street Dance Clubs across the week, led by Miss Richards from Warriorz Performing Arts Academy. On Monday nights, our Year 5/6 group meet, with around 30 children throwing themselves energetically into sessions where they develop both their moves and choreography skills. During lunchtimes later in the week, our Year 3/4 and Year 2 groups practice, with all 3 clubs taking part in performances at the end of the year.
In the Spring Term, members of our Year 2, 3 and 4 Dance Club had the opportunity to take part in Stevenage Dance Festival, held at the Gordon Craig Theatre on February 11th. Everyone involved rehearsed tirelessly throughout the term, under the expert training of our Dance coach, Miss Richards, and on the day of the performance they performed fantastically in both the afternoon and evening, wowing the packed audiences, who cheered and clapped loudly each time - find out more here.
- On the penultimate day of the Autumn term, members of our Street Dance club showed-off the moves and techniques they’ve been working on this term, alongside our Year 2 and Year 3/4 dance groups. Their fantastic routine wowed the rest of the school, and their coach, Miss Richards, has been so impressed by their commitment and performances this term that she’s looking to enter them into this year’s Stevenage Dance Festival!
- All three of our street dance clubs took the opportunity to showcase their talents in the last week of the Summer Term, performing in front of the entire school. The year 5/6 club rounded-off the show with an impressive display of their finest moves, combining taught steps with their own improvisations.
