Sports Week 2016
"The quality of teaching and learning in physical education is good. Pupils enjoy participating in sport very much."
We thoroughly enjoyed this year’s Sports Week, which presented a great mix of sports we were already familiar with, and activities we had never tried before.
In Year 6, we kicked-off the week with Table Tennis, playing on a huge variety of tables (rectangles, hexagons and even octagons) under the expert eye of Rising Stars coaches. We followed this up with a trampolining session, which gave us the chance to test our balance, agility (and springiness!). Later in the week we were excited to be given another chance to try the Ultimate Warrior course which we so enjoyed last year, clambering over hurdles, scrambling under nets and dodging a giant Roman sword! The week culminated in a brilliant 3-a-side football tournament, with everyone in Years 3-6 heading onto the field for a morning of non-stop action. As you can see here, we threw ourselves enthusiastically into every event...
Elsewhere in the week, we took part in ball-skills, street dance and inflatable sessions, some of which you can see below. We also took part in an 'On tour' skills challenge, run by the Stevenage Sporting Futures Team and our own Year 6 children.
