Egypt Day
x

"All leaders are committed to ensuring equal opportunity for all pupils so that they achieve well."

Year 3/4 held a brilliant Egypt Day last term to support their Ancient Egyptians topic. We had the chance to create a range of crafts and try our hand at techniques and materials we hadn’t used before. We worked our way around 8 stations where we had to make jewellery, dig for artefacts, carve scarab beetles and write our name in hieroglyphics. We had a brilliant day and learnt about the Egyptian way of life.

A small group of talented year 4 artists designed and then painted Tutankhamun’s sarcophagus. They studied pictures from the original dig and from there outlined the detail in pencil before using acrylic paint to complete it. As you can see on the opposite page, they did a marvelous, job and you can now see the sarcophagus on display outside the staff room.
