Our Classes... arrow

"Pupils are keen to learn and impress their teachers."

Our School has steadily grown over the last five years, and we currently teach around 290 children at Bedwell, organised into 11 classes, from Nursery to Year 6. On these pages, you can find out about some of the exciting things that each class has been doing over the last few weeks, from trips and outings to sports events and art workshops. You can also find out more about what each class has been learning about, check out who's received School Awards this term, and read examples of our latest work.

This term's highlights x

  • Reception had a fantastic day out at Herrings Green Farm, where they got to meet (and even hold) a variety of eagles and owls - and their Christmas Craft morning was a huge hit, too...
  • Year 1 threw themselves enthusiastically into our Spooktacular Reading Week, the KS1 production of The Magical Christmas Jigsaw and the Stevenage Sporting Futures Mini-Olympics...
  • Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed learning and performing their Christmas show too, and got to soak everything in sight when they visited Stevenage Fire Station and got to try out the hoses...
  • Year 3&4 rounded-off the Autumn Term with fantastic Christmas Parties, and wrote some brilliant science fiction stories as part of their Alien Landing topic...
  • Year 5 graduated from their Mini-Police project with an afternoon at Stevenage Police Station...
  • Year 6 have had another busy term, with a visit to RAF Hendon, County Final appearances for the Girls Football and Table Tennis teams, a packed Reading Week -and an awful lot of English and Maths, too...

On each classes home page, you'll find a box like this, giving an overview of what we'll be learning about over the next half-term, along with a link to our latest Topic Plan (on the front of which is a similar overview, with key Learning Objectives on the back).

Anything you can do to help your child learn about these topics is hugely appreciated - don't hesitate to ask your childn's teacher if you'd like to know more!
