Our Classes... arrow

"Pupils are keen to learn and impress their teachers."

Our School has steadily grown over the last five years, and we currently teach around 280 children at Bedwell, organised into 11 classes, from Nursery to Year 6. On these pages, you can find out about some of the exciting things that each class has been doing over the last few weeks, from trips and outings to sports events and art workshops. You can also find out more about what each class has been learning about, check out who's received School Awards this term, and read examples of our latest work.

This term's highlights x

  • Reception had another busy term, including a trip to the theatre to see Dear Zoo, the chance to watch chicks hatch in their classroom and another very successful Stay and Play session, too...
  • Year 1 threw themselves enthusiastically into our Science Week, and have taken part in a host of sporting activities this term, including a brilliant Football Skills Workshop...
  • Year 2 had a great day out at Church Farm, Ardley, where they got to meet (and hold) some very friendly chickens and turkeys - and they threw themselves enthusiastically into the World Book Day celebrations as well...
  • Year 3&4 headed to Hazard Alley in Milton Keynes for their Spring Term trip, and learnt some really valuable lessons about staying safe...
  • Year 5 were called back into action as Mini-Police Officers, with PC Dixon from Stevenage Police Station asking for their help in designing posters to tackle problems in our local area...
  • Year 6 have had another busy term, with a residential stay at PGL, lots of World Book Day and Science Week activities, some impressive sporting performances - and, of course, lots of maths and English too...

Topics for the Summer Term:
x

On each classes home page, you'll find a box like this, giving an overview of what we'll be learning about over the next half-term, along with a link to our latest Topic Plan (on the front of which is a similar overview, with key Learning Objectives on the back).

Anything you can do to help your child learn about these topics is hugely appreciated - don't hesitate to ask your childn's teacher if you'd like to know more!
