Our Classes... arrow

"Pupils and adults respect each other so that there is a strong sense of partnership in the learning that takes place."

Our School has steadily grown over the last five years, and we currently teach around 330 children at Bedwell, organised into 13 classes, from Nursery to Year 6. On these pages, you can find out about some of the exciting things that each class has been doing over the last few weeks, from trips and outings to sports events and art workshops. You can also find out more about what each class has been learning about, check out who's received School Awards this term, and read examples of our latest work.

This term's highlights x

  • Reception were visited by Ark Farm, who brought sheep, goats, ducks, chickens and even a donkey to Bedwell to support their Farmer Duck topic...
  • Year 1 organised a fantastic Superhero Day, where they were joined by family members, as well as thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to take part in the Rising Stars Indoor Athletics Festival at the Leisure Centre...
  • Year 2 had an arty end to the Spring Term, taking part in paper making workshops and creating some colourful (and quite messy) clay eggs for Easter...
  • Year 3&4 built amazing sculptures from recycled materials when they were visited by London based artist Michelle Reader, linked to their work on the story of Gwain and the Green Knight...
  • Year 5 led our fundraising efforts over the last term, collecting a huge selection of hats, socks and scarves for Syrian refugees spending the winter in Greece, as well as raising over £180 with our penny line...
  • Year 6 have had another busy term, heading to PGL for their residential weekend, representing the School at Indoor Athletics, Netball and Football, taking part in Sporting Futures on Tour and doing an awful lot of writing and maths as they move towards their SATs...

Topics for the Summer Term:
x

On each classes home page, you'll find a box like this, giving an overview of what we'll be learning about over the next half-term, along with a link to our latest Topic Plan (on the front of which is a similar overview, with key Learning Objectives on the back).

Anything you can do to help your child learn about these topics is hugely appreciated - don't hesitate to ask your childn's teacher if you'd like to know more!
