Bugsy Malone
x

"Pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is a strong feature of the school. Pupils learn how to play and work hppily together from an early age."

Our end-of-year performance of Bugsy Malone was a fantastic success, with over 400 people watching us perform over the course of three brilliant performances. Mason (Bugsy), Megan (Blousey), Max (Fat Sam), Lewis (Dandy Dan) and Claudia (Tallulah) dazzled in the lead roles, with great support from Bobbi, Taylor, Sean, Harley, Demi and Arleeya as Fat Sam's team of bumbling henchmen and Stilianos and Daly as the inept policemen on their tail. Our crew of dancing girls dazzled, too, with their performance of Fat Sam's Grand Slam a definite highlight.

With Year 6 in the lead roles, the rest of the Keystage rose to the challenge of some complex song and dance routines in their sections of the show, too. Year 5's girls gave the performance a brilliant start with their rendition of Bugsy Malone, while the boys were all-action (and all-punching) in their boxing scene. Meanwhile, the whole of Year 3/4 danced with their trusty brooms in Tomorrow (alongside Isabel from Year 6, as you can see in the picture below), then switched to bowls for some tricky moves in Down and Out.

All in all, the show was an undoubted hit - and those of us in Years 3, 4 and 5 can't wait to find out what musical we'll be performing next July!
