    Learning about art means a lot more than just being taught how to use a paintbrush - its all about learning how to look closely at pictures and objects, and discovering how to make really careful, controlled movements. Consequently, it's really important that everyone has the opportunity to explore and learn about a huge range of styles, materials and approaches - and, as you'll see from the examples of work listed below, that's exactly what we aim to provide at Bedwell.

  • Year 3/4 built model volancoes in DT to support their geography work and their Disaster topic... [ read more ]


  • Linked to their Wild and Free topic, Ladybirds explored the use of natural materials to produce artwork. In particular, they examined the work of the artists Andy Goldsworthy and Lois Ehlert, and used their pictures and sculptures to inspire their own art.... [ read more ]


  • In the build-up to our Christmas Fayre, every class produced a toy, decoration, artwork - or something edible - that they could sell on their class stall. We learnt lots of new skills - and quite a bit about economics and profit margins, too... [ read more ]

  • Foundation Stage rounded-off the Autumn Term with a fantastic Christmas Craft morning, when parents, carers and family members joined them to make a host of festive items... [ read more ]
